A new series of Cruise R electric motors have been specially developed for boats that have a steering wheel and gas lever, and sailboats that control the rudder. The Cruise R models reach 51% efficiency! This means that more than half of the energy contained in the battery is converted to drive power (measured after all loss, including losses on the propeller). The engine is equipped with a GPS module and an on-board computer. The Torqeedo Cruise 4.0 engine features a 48-volt engine with the same power as a 8 HP gasoline engine and a displacement like a 9,9 HP gasoline engine.
